In the past, people went into wear fake fur because they couldn't afford the real fur. Fake fur was then symbolized that you could not afford to buy the real fur. Around 1950, a better quality of fake fur came on the market, and here it became a conscious choice to buy fake fur rather than distress.
Since the 90s it has become more and more modern to use fake fur, and especially in the fashion industry you can see a huge difference. In fact, more than 200 different brands worldwide have chosen to no longer use real fur.
Supporters of real fur claim that real fur is more sustainable than fake fur, but in fact, a 2003 Environmental Protection Agency study has shown that fur farms burden the environment with as many nutrients from manure as half a million people. In fact, mink farms pollute most of all farming calculated per animal unit.
The actual processing of the fur products is also environmentally harmful. In fact, the World Bank ranks skin tanning as one of the 5 most environmentally hazardous industries in the world.

Care and maintenance of your faux fur jacket:
When you receive your new faux fur jacket, it is normal that the faux fur traps in the start. This will decrease over time. It can be advantageous to hang your jacket outside for aeration. Alternatively, shake it thoroughly before use.
- Never use a hairbrush or comb to brush the hair of your faux fur jacket
- Your faux fur jacket should not be clamped in the wardrobe as it will cause "hair" to settle. If the hairs settle over time, you can use a hair dryer on cold air to get the hair back up.
- Jackets in faux fur can be washed at 30 degrees. But never dry in dryer, it should air dry.
- Don't hang your jacket with the strap. Our faux fur jackets are heavy and can't withhold the weight of the jacket.
